Finally, after much negotiation, hue haa and finally tearful begging, we have got a lovely helper in with Toby over the weekend to support him whilst he is in hospital and we have been able to take the weekend.
This is not to say we haven’t had a lovely helper during the week, but because it was interspersed with days with no help, we were not able to take the opportunity to skedaddle back. The weather also left us totally stranded one day with no exits by road, rail or air. A bit of a sorry state of affairs in 21C Devon I must say….
I had forgotten how lovely my home is. It is a mess – very cluttered, full of paperwork which by rights should have seen the shredder before now, piles of dusty tomes and creative scribbles on every (literally even those covered with dust) surface - but it is my home.
Also the dog was pleased to see us.. which is always a bonus. Sometimes he is hyper, and within a few minutes we are rushing for cover, but the new dog food seems to be working – it is either that or the drugs Tammy is putting in his food…
I also have internet… so I will take the opportunity to read up on some blogs. This is very erratic where we are and I am reliant on the iphone and squinting into it – when it works. So please don’t think I am not grateful for all your lovely messages and I try to keep up with the blogs as best I can – so don’t think it is a one-sided affair.
Finally – a massive thank you to you all for the lovely letters of support and general cheering and waving… I couldn’t be half the person I am if it were not for the support of my friends…
