Returning to Base Camp

The Trout

Well our stay away is over… I am buzzing with ideas and inspiration – my creative self is taking over…

We travelled to Dartmoor one afternoon to visit Jane Deane’s studio.  Unfortunately she was away but we took the opportunity to look around Duchy Square.  There was a textile exhibition on, which I found incredibly interesting, and met up with Doris Smith-Rolli who I had briefly met back in November.

Doris' Silk Box

Her silk box had me mesmerised and I have vowed now to get stuck in and tackle more free form textiles in the near future.  I also purchased an adorable “Mad Yarn” which I hope to blend in with my current spinning/weaving project, a scarf for my lovely granddaughter, Katy-Lou.

We also came across this glorious macaw at Bickleigh Mill.  I can feel another colourway coming on to match my amazon parrot socks from last year.

MyCamera 043

Finally, a lovely photo of the colourful Mr T, who had spent the afternoon felting at CEDA.  He proudly announced he had chosen all the colours himself and remembered the felting he had done prior to the accident.

So back at base camp and getting my head around changing some habits of a lifetime and concentrating solely on my creative soul for a while.  Well until Monday at least !!
